Is it possible to simultaneously perform real-time recording and real-time projection of a Raspberry Pi?

Mon Nov 25, 2019 9:07 am

Hello everyone.
I am a newcomer to Raspberry Pi and would like to confirm the following questions.

Can I perform real-time recording and real-time projection of the Raspberry Pi at the same time?

Still need two Raspberry Pi for projection and recording?
I don't need to save the file.

Are you talking about when using the Raspberry Pi camera?

If so, yes, the preview can appear on the screen and be recorded at the same time. Although you say you don't want to save the file? In which cane what do you mean by recording?

hi Jamesh
Thanks for your reply.
little question.
you said ''If so, yes, the preview can appear on the screen and be recorded at the same time'.'you mean it could be happened in a Raspberry Pi, right? In your second question, I mean when I use real-time recording that would create the file but I don't want to save the file.

Yes, you can be recording from the camera and display the preview at the same time.

Yes, you can have the system outputting encoded data and throw it away, but I have no idea why you would want to do that. Why encode when you are throwing it away? Or are you doing something else with the data that isn't saving it to a file?

hi Jamesh

I just want to put the camera in my car's side mirror. It is good for me to know what's happened between my car's left/right side when I am driving around a corner.

I thought I need to buy two Raspberry Pi that my idea would be worked. But it seems I don't need to. lol

I need to tell you '' thank you for help me a lot even though my English is not good.
