Voice recognition

Sun May 12, 2019 9:56 am

I plan on starting a project which is an alarm clock based on voice commands, e.g I say "Set an alarm for 6:30", "turn off alarm" etc.
I've checked for some modules supported by Arduino but it seems like none of them suit this project since they all can receive commands whose length are upto 1.5 seconds.
Would like to know if you know any module which I can use for this project or something similar.
Thanks in advance and have a nice week.

Google have a voice recognition API that will take a file https://cloud.google.com/speech-to-text/ and to see this on a Pi have a look at https://oscarliang.com/raspberry-pi-voi ... like-siri/ for a quick script.

If you are off-line or do not want Big G listening in then Jasper https://jasperproject.github.io/ may work for you.

If you want to roll your own, then https://cmusphinx.github.io/wiki/tutorial/ is a toolkit.

Do not skimp on the microphone - better pick up and good background noise cancelling abilities ups the accuracy beyond belief.

Apologies - welcome to the forum
Need Pi spray - these things are breeding in my house...
