Live Streaming from pi to pi

Sun Aug 05, 2018 12:58 pm

I'm new to raspberries but am off to a good start. I would like to be able to stream anything from my stereo system from one pi to another. So far I've setup one raspberry with volumio which successfully plays internet radio and anything I stream to it from a pc. I'm using a Griffin Imic as an external soundcard for the raspberry which is greatly superior to the internal card.

I'd like to setup another pi to take live sound from the external card and stream it to the other pi but I'm not sure which software will do this. On a PC, I can do this with "Stream What You Hear." Is there another program like this which will work on a raspberry? Searching around, all the descriptions of raspberry servers describe streaming files, not live audio via the soundcard.

Any advice is appreciated.
