2 USB Microphones, Separate Channels, Podcasting

Wed Jul 04, 2018 3:40 pm

Hello everyone!

Fairly new to anything Raspberry Pi.

I'm looking at recording 20-30 minute podcasts using 2 USB microphones (yes, I know it's not as good as analogue, but I'm stuck with the equipment I have).

I was hoping to use Audacity. Is there a way to record on 2 different channels with 2 USB microphones?

Generally speaking, you'll want to check out which audio system you want, PulseAudio, OSS, ALSA and then Jack for making the connections to your mics. Here's a bit of starter: http://www.penguinproducer.com/Blog/201 ... with-jack/
Audacity works over the top of both the audio system and Jack so you'll want those working first.
So, yes, it should be doable, but you may have to hack around in the audio system and Jack to do it.

Cheers.
