omxplayer showing get-iplayer downloads bigger than screen

Watching any files downloaded with get-iplayer are showing cropped in omxplayer.
I can watch the same file on another machine, and it shows OK, but omxplayer on the rpi shows only the centre of the video - so, for instance, only the bottom of the second B and C is showing from the BBC logo. The first B isn't showing at all.
I've searched the forums (fora?) but not found any solution.
Bright ideas?
