mp3 player with remote buttons

Tue Nov 07, 2017 2:06 am

I am looking to build a music player for a model. I can put the music on the PI but I want the start, stop buttons to be wired and about 2 feet away from the PI. I've been looking for how to build a remote switch for the pi, but can't seem to find a small two or three button setup with only a few wires connecting it to the PI. Is there some sort of project someone can point me to? The player looks easy. The GPIO can do the job. It's the switch box and the wired connection I am looking for. I would prefer to not have a huge ribbon cable for the connection.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe use something like a black hat hack3r or even just a ribbon cable to move the GPIO connections away from the board and to where you want them. Then either wire up some buttons directly or use a button hat like a touchphat or a button shim?
