[Pi 1b] Cannot save audio volume with alsactl store

Sun Apr 17, 2016 11:56 am

I have mpd running on headless raspbian.

Code: Select all

$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA], device 0: bcm2835 ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA]
  Subdevices: 7/8
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
  Subdevice #1: subdevice #1
  Subdevice #2: subdevice #2
  Subdevice #3: subdevice #3
  Subdevice #4: subdevice #4
  Subdevice #5: subdevice #5
  Subdevice #6: subdevice #6
  Subdevice #7: subdevice #7
card 0: ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA], device 1: bcm2835 ALSA [bcm2835 IEC958/HDMI]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
However, volume is always at 45 by default. When I raise it, it's not remembered on boot.

When I type in the magic words, I get an error:

Code: Select all

$ alsactl store
alsactl: get_control:259: Cannot read control '3,0,0,Playback Channel Map,1': No such device
I have no clue where this comes from, and google fails me. Any ideas?

Code: Select all

$ uname -a
Linux RadioPi 4.4.7+ #876 Tue Apr 12 22:24:32 BST 2016 armv6l GNU/Linux
Also, I noticed audio is mono. Is this normal?
