MIDI player with tempo adjustment

Sun Aug 12, 2012 6:57 pm

Can anyone recommend a MIDI player for the Pi that supports tempo adjustment.

Its for musical instrument practice - playing along with an orchestra, but somewhat slower.

I'd use the Java MIDI_Player but java is presently too slow on the Pi (its still interpreted).

Requirements are:

1. volume control/mute/solo for each instrument
2. Adjust tempo (slower)
3. Start/top/move 'cursor'

Many thanks

here is a list of possibilities-

Rosegarden is popular but may be to slow for RPi

Midish is a commandline player, so may be more suitable
