Film TLR camera and RPi camera module

Hello
I like film photography, and I hope one day we will be able to use a film twin lens reflex TLR as a shell for a sensor inside and make it digital.
More info at http://www.dtlrs.com
I started long time ago to put at the cameras back diffrent screens ( and make a picture of the screen reflection), i put scanners back, even a digital back, but still I think a RPi will do it good some day, and I get close.
So, here is my 'bug' that I'm testing for a while:
A Yashica Mat 124 with a Rasperry Pi + RPi camera module at the back.
I used RPi Cam Web Interface ( topic here: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=63276 )
but I'm still working on finding a simplified version, sort of an app with basic capture functions/settings of the RPi camera to match the film camera settings (is anyone with coding skills interested?)-I can do a good graphic interface, as graphic design (i will might post here some 'skins').
I like to use GPIO to sync with camera trigger, can anyone advise the right way to do it, I link it directly to the ground and one of the 3V pins but I got stuck in the coding part, not my best part :) , but I think we get there, I hope this sparks your enthusiasm.

Anyway, here is a capture of the RPi with a Film TLR optics:
