Wed Jul 18, 2012 10:08 pm

Hi,

Im hopefully getting my RPI very soon and want to use it as a media player for my TV in my living room,
just wondering if anyone knows if VLC player works on the RPI OS or if anyone knows of a media player that does work on the OS.

Cheers

I don't know if people are still interested but for me it worked like this:
First install the oss-compat package:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install oss-compat
then start vlc with

Code: Select all

vlc --aout oss <filename>
I haven't tried video output though.
