synchronize 8 beamers

Fri Apr 17, 2015 12:43 pm

Hello...I am a new user to the raspberry pi and want to use it to synchronize 8 beamers playing 8 different mp4 files. I think I would have to network 8 pi's together, each driving a beamer and send one start signal. I also would like to interrupt a specific beamer and insert a live feed from a GoPro instead of the mp4 file. Then stop the live feed and go back to the mp4 file which is still synchronized to the other beamers. Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you!!

I assume you're German and that you mean you want to synchronise eight HDMI video projectors.

http://piwall.co.uk may work with one RPi per projector.

Thanks for the link but I want to project 8 different movies and that solution splits one movie into 8 pieces. The real difficulty is to break into one feed and substitute a live feed for a time and then go back to the movie...and in the right place...eg.sync'ed with the other seven.

Maybe you can stream the mp4 file from 1 pi and watch it on the other 7.
When you would like another stream (GoPro), you can just change the stream url on that specific pi. ;)
I'm not sure if it's possible, but I think it's not that difficult. :?
