Playing BBC radio

The bigwigs at the BBC have been messing with OUR radio stations. Most BBC radio streams are not working. I used omxplayer and Daemon (mpc and mpd) to play radio stations through the LXTerminal. The only radio streams that would work were BBC World Service. I looked through the Internet and found a stream that would play Radio 2. I tried changing "radio2" for other stations and had some success. I could not play Radio 5 Sports Extra nor BBC World Service. I tried to post a topic about these streams but some characters inside them made it impossible for them to be displayed properly. What follows is the best I can do.
Type or copy http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia. Straight after it with no spaces add the underscore character, the radio title, the underscore character, mf, the underscore character and p. The radio titles are as follows: radio1, radio1xtra, radio2, radio3, radio4fm, radio4lw, radio4extra, radio5live and 6music. The old World Service streams are still working and they are: http://bbcwssc.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcwssc_mp1_ws-eieuk

BBC radio channels are currently available via http://www.listenlive.eu ie http://www.listenlive.eu/bbcradio4.m3u, most aaclca links still being turned off, due to a reported choice of 'temporary failure' or 'licensing' excuses.

I have successfully restored my access to the BBC radio stations using listenlive.eu, but I am struggling to add a particular US radio station, namely WRR from Dallas Texas, one of the best classical music stations I have come across (watch out for city council meetings on some Wednesdays!). If anyone can help with the link that I can mpc add to gain access to that, I would very much appreciate it, my efforts have met with zero success.
Also if anyone can recommend an iPad app to control the mpc client, I would appreciate that too. I have control from Android devices, but have not found an iPad app that I can make work. An article I read recommends MPoD for an iPad, but I have installed it and can find no way or help to enable it to use the mpc radio station list.

Have you tried running logitech media server on your pi? Using squeezelite as the client. Should allow you to play radio stations. There is controllers on all platforms.

This morning I tried to play radio stations using Daemon on my second Raspberry Pi. This time they worked. Omxplayer would not play them. I hope that others using the mpc, mpd system will have similar success. I bought an Mpeg-2 licence for this machine whereas the one that I usually use has no such licence.

Two of the benefits of using LMS are:
1) access to an online database of station stream URLs that is quite well maintained
2) software updates from a small community of experienced users to work around problems

In is case there has been an update to support the new streaming protocol being used by BBC Radio. This means that the higher quality audio streams are playable.
Prior to that update (or for people who have not updated) the station database was updated to point to the new MP3 (128k bps) streams so that most users would not even have known that BBC had made some big changes (unless they spotted that the audio quality was worse for some stations and they could not hear live sport any more).

I have found the Radio 4 titles which can be added to my radio station list as shown above at the start of this topic. They are radio4fm and radio 4lw. Type out the first past of the stream address and add the rest including the new title(s).I cannot find World Service Streams to work on the new system. The old system ones are still working and they are: http://bbcwssc.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcwssc_mp1_ws-eieuk
http://bbcwssc.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcwssc_mp1_ws-einws
I still have to find Radio 5 Sports Extra.
