pilight - cheap home automation server

Mon Sep 02, 2013 9:14 am

Some of you guys already know me from the old 433.92-Raspberry-Pi project. Now i'm happy to share that this project (as one of the first solutions for home automation) has been transformed to a full scale and highly modular home domotica server (and clients) 8-) It has been (re)branded pilight and can be found at http://www.pilight.org / https://github.com/pilight/pilight. Full explanations on how it all works can be read on my github. Website is still on it's way...

For those who want to try it. I would recommend to use the memory branch because it has been confirmed to be much more stable than the master branch.

Code: Select all

git clone --detph 5 -b memory https://github.com/pilight/pilight.git

Hello!

I like very much your project!
I also have a project "OpenBot" here http://www.ms-robot.com
It's a system enable to control many sensors, displays, motors for robotics.
I want integrate an rf 433 receiver and emitter, and you seem have the perfect solution for us.

But i have troubles with system, i can't fully launch pilight-daemon.

Here is what i have done:

sudo modprobe lirc_rpi -> ok
git clone --detph 5 -b memory https://github.com/pilight/pilight.git -> ok
cd ~/pilight -> ok
make && sudo make install -> seems ok
sudo ~/pilight/pilight-daemon -D -> arf
gpio: Unable to open GPIO direction interface for pin 18: No such file or directory
wiringPiISR: unable to open /sys/class/gpio/gpio18/value: No such file or directory

Is there a solution?

Thanks

ok, it's working.

finaly, i don't use "sudo modprobe lirc_rpi"

with settings.json
{
"port": 5000,
"mode": "server",
"log-level": 4,
"pid-file": "/var/log/daemon/pilight.pid",
"config-file": "/etc/pilight/config.json",
"log-file": "/var/log/pilight.log",
"process-file": "",
"send-repeats": 10,
"receive-repeats": 1,
"hw-socket": "/dev/lirc0",
"hw-mode": "gpio",
"use-lirc": 0,
"gpio-sender": 7,
"gpio-receiver": 5,
"webserver-enable": 1,
"webserver-root": "/usr/local/share/pilight/",
"webserver-port": 5001
}

sudo pilight-deamon -D
sudo pilight-receive

And it's reading my DIO-chacon modules :)
And with only 20% cpu of my raspberry :)
