Cool efforts.
Been collecting parts for a lawnmower and had decided on two wheel drive with casters.
This is commonly called "zero turn".

For something this size, two Brushless outrunner motors with perhaps direct drive?

No need to make it a balance bot, but you could.

I am starting to see drivers now, some are servo type

Some are for robot arms.

Direct drive Stepper motors will have great torque, but might be top speed limited.

Those yellow hobby motors will wear out.
The software is the hard part.

Tennis bot collector 2

Hi guys,

Finally, managed to get some free time and finish my "hello world" RasPi+Python project.
Idea was to use Raspberry Pi 3A+ and Google Coral TPU to recognize tennis balls and then deliver them to the person with raised hand.
I wrote a short article about it:

Nicely done!

Do you think it can work over larger distances to recover balls from the edges of the court?

Might you adapt it to collect more than one ball at a time?

Maybe you caould add a mechanism to shoot the ball(s) back to the players to save travel time.
