a R2D2 robot powered by Pi

This is a Pi-driven robot I built in two months. Currently, it supports voice control (in English and Chinese), face recognition, motion detection, ultrasonic distance detection, audio message record and replay, wifi, and other features, which you can see from the video. It was even unbelievable to me that Pi can do so many things when I got a Pi and started to design the robot.

Very cool robot! I'm wondering, how did you control the motors for the wheels?

Each arm of the robot has a AC motor. The two motors are controlled by a Dual L298 H-Bridge, which needs 6 GPIO pins (3 pins per motor). To rotate the body, just let the two motors rotate in oppsite directions.
