Hi,

i'm a newbie in this " world" and i ask an help.

How i can configure a sensor 1wire as the DALLAS DS18B20 with CACTI ?

- The sensor is made and it is connected directly on RASPI and it works . I can receive data from sensor and temperatures are logged
- CACTI is installed following this guide : http://n00blab.com/cacti-pi/

I found this guide on the web ( http://www.julietmikebravo.nl/2010/10/d ... and-cacti/) , but is not useful for my case.

I don't know, if possible or not to create graphs as i described ? Can you help me ?

You probably don't need cacti. Cacti uses rrdtool (http://oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool/) for logging and charting. You could use rrdtool directly and have your temperature charted.

I will second that.

If you have temperatures being logged, then rrdtool is straightforward to use to make basic graphs. It can also make much more advanced graphs, but that takes some learning it would seem (since I have not made much progress with it, but then again I have not tried very hard).

rrdtool comes with an export option. The result is an xml file that can be used to generate pretty charts using external libraries. You could check my temperature charts generated with http://www.highcharts.com and rrdtool xml exports: http://pi.tafkas.net/temperatures/. The how-to I wrote down at: http://pi.tafkas.net/about.html

thanks Tafkas,
I would like to do just what you suggested..... not using USB-WDE1 Receiver as you made but capturing directly data from the Dallas sensor plugged in the Raspi I/O....

RRDTOOL and Highcharts are what I want.... but I don't know almost nothing about database or programming .,..

Have you looked at the About page? I tried to explain the whole setup in detail. Try to read through that and if you have any questions left, feel free to ask. :)

thanks for the reply...

following these solutions http://webshed.org/wiki/RaspberryPI_DS1820 and http://blog.turningdigital.com/2012/09/ ... r-rrdtool/

I made what i wanted....

next step will be to use graph nicer and accurate as Tafkas .... 8-) :ugeek:
