Noob question about motor drivers

Tue Oct 16, 2018 2:55 pm

I was trying to use a motor with the L298N motor driver and I found this tutorial https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/pro ... -a-buggy/2. On my L298N a gnd connection is missing (I'm talking about the one above the IN3 connection, not the one near 12V).
Can I use it anyway? Will it damage any component?
Thank you!

You need a ground between the motor driver board and the pi gpio.

You could use the ground that's connected to the 12v supply if there are no other ground pins available.

If you are un sure about connecting your motor driver board post a picture of it showing all the connections and we will advise you on the correct connections between the pi and the motor driver board.
