Pi-Plate not working, really no idea what's wrong

Wed Jul 25, 2018 12:55 am

So, I have a Pi-Plate (DAQC2Plate specifically). I have installed all the Python libraries, enabled SPI, literally did everything that the Pi-Plate site tells me to do, and pretty sure I connected the Pi-Plate to my Pi correctly since the white LED turns on. Now, the problem is, I am trying to change the color of the built in LED with the setLED(addr, color) command that is supposed to work. But I keep getting an error. I really have no idea at all what the error could stem from; I've tested it on two different models of perfectly working Pis, so it must be the Pi-Plate. I've rebooted, reinstalled and uninstalled everything but it just doesn't work. Any idea what's wrong? I need this Pi-Plate for a more advanced project; I will be doing data acquisition with it, but if I can't even get this most basic function working, I don't know what I'll do. Some pictures for reference:

Any help is appreciated please. I've scoured all over the Pi-Plate site but can't seem to find any info that helps.

Let's look at your code. It appears you have a variable that is not set. We'll start with "setLED is not defined" and your import statement.

Start with the first error you get, anything spat out later could be tainted by error#1, fix error #1 and everything else could well fall into place..

a quick look at the code example at the bottom of this page https://pi-plates.com/daqc2-users-guide/

suggests the command

Code: Select all

DAQC2.setLED(x.y)
might be what you ment to type?
if the setled function is a method of the daqc2 instance

Thank you, I will try this next time I have access to it and get back, although I'm pretty sure I must have tried this, without doing any wrong commands beforehand.
