Adapting Sound Trigger Project

Tue Jul 10, 2018 8:10 am

Hello,

Please see the following Clapper Project:

https://www.14core.com/making-your-own- ... n-arduino/

I would like to adapt this project so a sound effect detected via usb line in would trigger a light bulb to turn on for a certain amount of time.

Is this possible. Eg if my computer receives a notification (Email noise) the bulb will turn on.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

If it has to be computer/phone activated, wouldn't it be easier to just write an actual program for that device that alerts your Raspberry when a trigger (eg notification) arrives?

Hello,

Sorry i'm completely new to coding the Pi and have only done noob projects before.

This is only the initial start of a bigger project however it needs to be an USB Line in audio trigger that causes a plugged in light to switch on, I want a system that works locally through a wired connection.

I want a piece of code that recognises a sound signal (NOTE: This doesn't need to hear what the signal is just to recognise a signal is present) via a usb audio interface plugged into the pi to activate a switch which could turn on a standard lamp for a set amount of time.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?
