I just bought a Pi Zero W and want to start my first project. I want to do the following:
1) Build a very simple metal detector
2) Connect it to my Pi via the GPIO pins
3) Display the signal from the detector with a small Python script
Since I am totally new in this field, I have no idea how I should start. I probably can build a simple metal detector. But how can I connect it to my PI. Which pins do I use? How do I track the signal with a Python script?
I would be really happy if someone could help me with some good advice.
A quick Google search found this: https://www.electronicshub.org/metal-de ... it_Diagram
This could be modified be attached to a GPIO instead of the speaker.
Not really a beginners project.....
I would suggest to first do some small projects to learn about how the RPi works. For example add a switch to turn on an LED or start an app etc.
When you are comfortable with that then maybe look into a more complex project.
Go here for my RPi writeup. Basic config, Serial Port add-on etc:
