If anyone is interested I have a project for home automation using Tellstick/Tellstick DUO from the swedish company Telldus Technologies. (http://telldus.com). This controls various light switches on the 433 MHz band. My favorites from Nexa but others are supported as well.
Compability list here: http://telldus.com/products/compability
Apart from commanding and getting sensor input from the above the system can also send Wake-On-Lan commands or HTTP-requests that might include the sensor values or just as a side effect when turning on or off lamps. There is also undocumented functionality to send and trigger on HDMI-CEC commands so you can turn on/off your CEC-compatible TV.
There is a very generic architecture where everything is devices, so a group can contain any number of devices including other groups.
Everything is controlled and configured thru a web page. No need to do any scripts/ssh etc. Some basic REST-API exist as well.
The system is distributed as an SD-image file (havent had time to put togheter an installation instruction). For more information visit my project home page here:
