Echo stops responding intermitently

Wed Oct 11, 2017 1:52 pm

Hi Guys,

I had installed Amazon Echo (Alexa) on my Raspberry Pi3 and after connecting everything (Mic, Speaker, internet) I switched on the device.
When I said the wake work (Alexa), it responded couple of times. After that, it just stopped responding.
I am not sure what happened. After rebooting the device, checking from the terminal if the AlexaPi services are running or not, checking the mic, re-checking the speaker - everything turns out to be okay. It still responds once or twice before giving up on me.

I am not sure what is going wrong here.
Anyone has any idea on how to troubleshoot this?

Help, like always, is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
K

I am also an extremely similar issue with a Bluetooth speaker I have paired with my Pi3. It works briefly, but then will just drop out and cannot reconnect.

do you think its a speaker issue?
I have connected my speaker through wire (3.5mm) and not bluetooth

Check the kernel logs (dmesg) and also see if there are any Alexa logs (in /var/log, if not, try to run Alexa on a command line somehow, preferably with args that say to be "verbose"). Sorry I don't have Alexa running to say how to do this. Good luck.
