L293D IC help.

Thu Nov 26, 2015 5:26 pm

Hey guys :) . I'm trying to make a motor controller and so far i have seen already assembled boards which are quite cheap online, but they will not come soon enough because of the holidays. So i was wondering how can i make a controller using the L293D IC ( im asking about this particular one because it seems to be the standard). What other parts do i need , and if anyone can link me to a diagram for the connections that would be great. Also , other suggestions are very welcomed .

What type of motor's would you like to use? Power rating?
If you are going to use the L293N you won't need any additional parts.

Hey Laurens,to be honest,i'm just going to be using scavenged motors from toy RC's ive picked up over the years. So i have no idea about the power rating, they are mostly 6v though...if that helps.Sorry i cant give you any more information at this time since im not so knowledgeable on motors.

You don't need any more parts with the L293D (it has in-built fly back diodes).

There must be thousands of examples if you Google.
