It's been seen 127 times so far. No one has an answer to your question apparently.

Then there is this:
Waze supports Android and iPhone ... ... do not support either a full native UI or other application programming interfaces they rely on

I wrote a script in python to do some acts instead of gpsd.
But ! i it seems i do not have knowledge about communication between gpsd and clients !.

If you've got gpsd running then the agps3 package gives you a simple way to get the data.
https://pypi.org/project/gps3/

Code: Select all

#!/usr/bin/python3
from gps3 import agps3
gps_socket = agps3.GPSDSocket()
data_stream = agps3.DataStream()
gps_socket.connect()
gps_socket.watch()
for new_data in gps_socket:
    if new_data:
        data_stream.unpack(new_data)
        print('Elevation = ', data_stream.alt)
        print('Latitude = ', data_stream.lat)
        print('Longitude = ', data_stream.lon)

I've no useful data for cgps yet, even replacing gpsd with my script.
I've searched to find out communication between cgps and gpsd and found nothing useful, - because my network -.
So i have no idea about how cgps and gpsd are talking between each other- it will be useful if i have sample full communication of them ;)-
And now i have just this :

gpsd has a TCP/IP socket listener. cgps is a TCP/IP socket client. It calls stuff in gpsdclient.c.
