Does vyatta provide source code or an ARMv6 hard float version? Because if not then you don't have a cat in hell's chance of getting it running on your RPi.

hi
thanks for the response.
Actually the thing is i am working on an academic project whose aim is to perform open source routing. First i was using quagga protocol but it doesn't offer much features with routing like QOS, dhcp service, VPN ip sec etc, so i jump to vyatta which has a wide range of features to offer. So i dont know how to find if it provide source code or has ARMv6 hard float version?

Thanks

ARMHF not supported:

Vyatta is now owned by Brocade and closed source, however there is an open source fork VyOS which in wiki states

"VyOS is a fork of the Vyatta CE edition of routing software. VyOS is a Linux based routing solution built on the Debian Linux distribution, and currently runs on i386 and X86_64 bit platforms."

So vyos is also not for ARM as it is only for i386 & .x86. Can you suggest me another open source protocol which will give us the same features as of vyatta on pi . i want to make my pi an open source router having VPN, QoS, dhcp server like services available?

Thanks

Any nettop PC will have similar small size. Intel NUC, Gigabyte Brix, Foxconn Nettops and many more. There are hacker-boards like Minnowboard-Max, but they will cost more than similar Nettop (consumer mass made product). In some cases cheaper/better may be bit bigger mini-ITX classical PCs (you pay extra for something to be smaller). You can check my Celeron J1900 mini-ITX PC build for an example.
