wake Raspberry Pi wit WoL

Wed Jan 22, 2014 5:07 pm

Hi,

I have a short, but I hope not silly, question. Is it possible to wake up a Raspberry with a LAN-connection?

I'm not a complete noob in using the RPi and Linux. I use NOOBS with Raspbian, the RPi Model B Revision 2.

I don't believe so. What are you trying to achieve be waking the Raspberry Pi? It doesn't draw a lot of power. It doesn't have a power supply like a PC that can be turned on via wake on lan.

Something more simple might work. You could sense the ethernet cable signals +-2.5 V and trigger a DIY power supply from any traffic on that cable. That assumes that no other devices are using the same cable.
