Minecraft Server+Webui Node for Rpi1/2/3

Sat Jan 11, 2014 5:25 am

Updated post from the old guide guys, I'll be removing my old videos as they are far outdated. Please use this if you would like to run MineOs-Webui. Also i'll be doing a comparison video between Node/Python for features and Ram usage. Please subscribe for that Video. Thanks again for all those who support me and enjoy my content.

Hi guys i'm back with another test video on the Raspberry Pi3 and Minecraft (I might have a problem :P).

This time it's showcasing just the Raspberry Pi3 and MineOs WebUI.

Please like and subscribe if you liked the video guys.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR, THIS WEBUI IS NOT MINE & I DIDN'T MAKE IT.
I am simply showing others how to install it on their RPi, the creators are found here.. http://minecraft.codeemo.com/
so if you like it please thank them for their hard work, Also WILL is the Man for support!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Was tested on RPi3 running Dietpi headless.

I look forward to comments on this. Thank you guys (Python images)

If you would rather have the script to just run then do this..

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
Then run this to get going.

Code: Select all

wget -O - http://pastebin.com/raw/v6X3gpbS | tr -d '\r' | sudo bash
This will install java for you if you don't already have it and your all set. Please refer to the video for any questions or leave them here.

Please leave feedback. Thank You

Permission denied on what resource?
Because I'd suspect that was an erroneous message meaning "missing file" or "read only file" or some such condition. You, normally, can't prevent root from writing to 99.9% of files, objects and devices on a Unix system. The 0.1% are a complete exception to all rules and incredibly hard to enforce.

I have tried the script about three times now and don't seem to be getting anywhere with it. I load a new installation of raspian (the latest version) I follow your instructions and it seems to go off without a hitch. After install and reboot I try to connect using my ip address of the pi and port 8080, my browser just sits and spins. I left it for an hour with nothing changing. What raspian did you use to make your server? Maybe something has changed in the newest edition. Thanks for any help you can give. I'm still new to the linux thing.

After looking at some of the websites out there and looking in my mineos.log and see that it keeps closing down. I will try to post here if anyone is interested in looking into it further.

Are you using https://yourRpiIp:8080

Also you might have a port issue... But you shouldn't..try opening 8080 on your router for the RPI IP.

Thanks so much for posting this! I love the WebUI feature and would really like to get a Minecraft server running! But I have been having a difficult time getting the server set up though.

I followed your setup exactly, but I'm not so sure about how to set up my server. I added a profile (the Bukkit recommended one) and I added a server, but when I go to start it I get an error that reads :

rsync: change_dir "/var/games/minecraft/profiles/bukkit-recommended" failed: No such file or directory (2) rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1070) [sender=3.0.9]

I don't know too much about Linux or Raspberry Pi's in general, just the basics. Could you please help me out?

When you created the bukket profile... After selecting it did you hit update and wait for it to download the jar file from the bukket server... It takes a minute. (Depending on your net).. If it's right you should see a check mark next to update. You have to download the jar to make the profile directory. Please post back if that helps.

This may help guide you. If you look at the 4th photo on my Original Post it shows the profile page.. Yours should show the bukket profile you picked... On the right it should have that ok check mark.. If it is an X then hit update and wait for it to change to a √. Could take a bit.

Also I use the spigot server.jar because it played nicely with my raspberry pi on ram. Seems many are still having difficulties so tomorrow I will wipe my RPI and install the latest Raspbian and try my instructions to make sure all is well. Also I'll post any updates (if any) in OP.

Update: i did a clean install of raspbian 2014-1-07 and my install was perfect, Also i made a (long and boring lol) video of the install process for those who might be having issues. Check OP for more info.

I'll come back to my RPi soon but deciding what i want to make it do now. Thanks all and enjoy this setup....Also i think i'll be updating this script soon to make it faster and easier.

How many people would like an easier script/automated script?
