Colocation, how to backup the running pi

Hello everyone,

I can get free colocation for a raspberry pi.
It seems great, but I'm looking for a backup solution.

I want to backup a running pi, the best script i've found is rpi-clone.
Is 's not exactly what I'm looking for, but maybe it can be modified.

I want to make a compressed backup and ftp-upload it to home once a month.
Is there someone with a script available or do I need to do it myself?
