Proxy and 4G Modem

Sat Aug 24, 2019 2:14 pm

Hello,

I have a 4G Modem (Google Pixel USB Tethering) and the device works as a network device and is given an IP.

Code: Select all

usb0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST>  mtu 1500
        inet 192.168.42.130  netmask 255.255.255.0  broadcast 192.168.42.255
        inet6 fe80::3254:ee9b:3ece:5baa  prefixlen 64  scopeid 0x20<link>
        ether b6:13:a8:ab:f1:a3  txqueuelen 1000  (Ethernet)
        RX packets 11  bytes 1391 (1.3 KiB)
        RX errors 0  dropped 0  overruns 0  frame 0
        TX packets 26  bytes 4933 (4.8 KiB)
        TX errors 0  dropped 0 overruns 0  carrier 0  collisions 0
I want to be able to connect to this proxy from outside my LAN but all traffic to be routed through the 4G Network.
I've been at this for some time and I cannot get my head around it.

I'm not sure you can actually forward ports through an Android Tether. But if you can, you would be looking to make that IP 192.168.42.130 the DMZ or find a section to select the specific ports you need to forward. Then you can access your proxy through the Pixels 4G IP.

You would also have to make sure your 4G provider is giving you an actual Internet IP (Not a private IP). If your Pixel is getting an IP in one of the following ranges, its a Private IP and you won't be able to do any port forwarding or DMZ setups through that 4G provider; 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x or 192.168.x.x.

Hi, I think you can try to use Allproxy to do that, which can public your 4g network as a proxy, https://trs.ai/2019/07/19/allproxy-serv ... ostration/
