Pi as a Network bridge with a Public AP

Sun Apr 14, 2019 2:06 pm

Good Morning,

I searched the forum and could not find exactly what I need. If I may have missed the thread, please direct me to it. I am looking for a Python script for the Pi3 to accomplish the following... as you guessed programming is not one of my best features.

Objective:
I have different projects that I am working on in my RV that I am trying to connect to the Public AP. The campground has a rule that you cannot use Wi-Fi Signal boosters in the campground (enforced). Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi signal losses a lot of its signal strength on the inside of the RV. So, I am looking at using a Pi as a network bridge for my Arduino and Pi projects (sends out text/email notifications) information to my smartphone). The internal Pi Wi-Fi modem will not be used, due to lack of stable signal from AP. Should the internal modem be deactivated. The design will look like this.

Public AP (WEP,WPA2 & PW)>>> Pi (USB Wi-Fi modem) >> RJ45 cable >> D-Link Wi-Fi router (WEP, WPA2) >>> Arduino/Pi projects and SOLAR Charge controller. The Pi is plugged into the D-Link with an RJ45 cable.

Project Parts:
- Raspberry Pi 3
- Blueshadow USB WiFi Adapter - AC1200 Dual Band 2.4G/5G Mini Wi-fi ac Wireless Network Card Dongle with High Gain Antenna (SMA antenna connector)
- 5' Wi-Fi antenna extension cable (to mount antenna on outside of RV
- D-Link Wi-Fi router (w/4 ethernet connections)

Granted, I will loose some of my speed, but that is fine.

Any assistance or ideas will be appreciated
