Apologies for "double posting"
- there is a similar entry under hardware addons ...
Not sure where to put this ..
The RaspberryPi could form the basis of a "smart sensor" node ... or serve as the centre of a cluster of small e.g. Arduino based nodes ...
See e.g. the following article ...
https://www.linux.com/learn/tutorials/5 ... eee-802154
For possible wireless tags see e.g. http://www.redwirellc.com/store/node/1
Also ... take a look at some of the products from Silabs .. both 8051 based and ARM CortexM3 based ..
See also .. 6lowPAN on various Atmel AVR , and ARM Cortex M3 boards ...
If you are interested I can elaborate further ...
Any interest in workshops / courses .. ?

Re: Raspberyi and "The Internet of Things"
I am aiming to use..the pi as a 6LoWPAN border for a jennet-ip system.
It will act a control center for the wireless network with a smartphone as a remote control
So far i have a daemon running which will act as the bridge from the ethernet to the WPAN. If anyone is interested in sharing some ideas I would be happy to let you know where I am with it.
