Dear Community,

The raspberry pi 3 b+ was running correctly, with wifi configuration.
Now when plug network cable the connection will work, however wifi connection stopped working, and when the system booting it hangs with set of “waiting up” messages, then continue but without wifi connection!

And the contents of /etc/network/interfaces:

Code: Select all

# interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8)

# Please note that this file is written to be used with dhcpcd
# For static IP, consult /etc/dhcpcd.conf and 'man dhcpcd.conf'

# Include files from /etc/network/interfaces.d:
source-directory /etc/network/interfaces.d

allow-hotplug wlan0
iface wlan0 inet manual
wpa-roam /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
iface default inet dhcp
Can you help me to solve this problem.

When booted with cable connected then removed after boot, what are the ping times on the wifi

(oops in your case you probably need to use - just use ping -b instead)

leave it for a while to see if there are values over about 10 - which may mean wifi interference problems.

If you are using a RPi3B+, you must be running Stretch version. If so, you shouldn't have any additional entries in /etc/network/interfaces. Any static network settings should be done in /etc/dhcpcd.conf.
