I thought of this thread as a thread where people could post their experience with Transmission Bittorrent on the RPI, and maybe share their settings on pastebin or other places for people to benefit. And mot important of all.. Maybe someone out there just have the right luck with the settings etc.. that makes his pi fly with a steady speed of 2mb/s or something like that Please do tell what you did!
I have RaspbMC installed(newest version), which is based on the newest Rasbian image using armhf arch.. I have installed transmission with apt-get, which gives me transmission 2.52 on my distro.
I have a very stable 10/10 mbit adsl connection, which always gives me around 1,2-1,3mb/s on my desktop when downloading private torrents.
However here is the problem. There a probably a million different parameters I can tweak and adjust, and I have already tried my fair share with no to little noticeble difference. The cmdline file, the sysctrl settings, th transmission settings, overclocking, netowork settings etc. etc..
I am very interested in hearing what people tend to have their pi perform STABLE. Im not talking about it being able to peak at 1 or 2mb/s. But actually its capability to sustain a high download speed (im not interested in high upload speed atm. First thing first).
My Pi fluctuates like crazy in download speeds. It goes something like this 0kb/s -> 150kb/s -> 500 kb/s -> 0kb/s -> 700kb/s -> 0kb/s -> 1100 kb/s -> 500 kb/s -> 0kb/s -> 800kb/s etc... etc..
I think you catch my drift. So in the end the pi effectively only downloads with around 500-600kb/s because of all the fluctuation in download speeds.
Trust me im desperate here.. I have tried so many combinations of settings and what not, and cannot figure out why it performs like this. I do hear people say they can download with 2mb/s, but for me that sound like utopia atm.
