Rsync exclude previously transfered files

I have a seedbox and a Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi Rsync's to the server and grabs every file that it doesn't already. This would be fine, except some of the files are .rar files that I want to extract, then delete the archive. Rsync, however, will retransfer the file. Is there any way to avoid this?

not easily
you can stop transferring some files with --ignore *.rar for example
however I take it you want those files anyway..
so I'd not bother deleting those when you extract

or don't bother raring the files just rsync everything anyway

or extract to somewhere else

rsync doesnt remember, its job is to make two directories equal.

I believe you can create a list of files to be excluded from the sync, and you could probably add files to that list from the log of already transferred files.
This list of files would probably be quite long after a while.
