LAMP / Vagrant

Thu Sep 13, 2012 11:16 am

Whilst Googling around the forum and web trying to find out if it's possible to run LAMP on my Pi I found something called Vagrant

http://blairwilliams.com/2012/04/12/run ... h-vagrant/

Is this something worthwhile trying to install on my Pi?

I'm interested in testing out some WordPress installs on localhost ... would it just be better to install LAMP or something else? (I'm a total beginner to Linux and the command line)

LAMP and Wordpress works like a charm on the Pi. Maybe a bit on the slow side, but add php_apc to the system and WP Super Cache to the Wordpress site and you are good to go. At least my box is. Possibly not for a public server (whatever that is) but for learning and sharing with a few friends it is quite good.

Just install LAMP.

Vagrant uses virtualization, which the Pi will not handle at all. Vagrant is for your deskopt/laptop.
