rtorrent downloads to a AFP share

Hello,

I am have successfully installed both rtorrent and netatalk and afpfs-ng and they all work well.
My problem is I have now set my rtorrent directory to my mounted afp share and rtorrent returns
"Storage error: [File chunk write error: No such file or directory.]"
I can see that rtorrent writes a .metafile to my afp share but that is is 0bytes.
My share has dwrxrwxrwx permissions
I am using the new raspbian.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be as I cannot find anything concerning this other than this error might come if you modify downloaded files on the drive and rtorrent might freakout.

Thank you for your help.

I resorted to use samba cifs protocol instead of afp as my server supports both.
Please let me know if you manage to find a solution to use afp.
