RPI2: OSMC vs. OpenElec vs. Xbian

Hi,
I got my Raspberry Pi 2 this Monday. And i use it as Media Center connected with a extern HD and use Samba to allow acces to my extern HD from my laptop and desktop computer.

What I have:

• - OpenElec installed

• - Samba activated

• - SSH activated

The OpenElec has a ReadOnly Filesystem and I have to do a couple changes on it. Thats why i look for a other System.
OpenElec works smoothly and i am very happy how stable it is, but i have to do some advanced stuff so i'm searching for an alternativ System.

Has anyone tried Xbian or OSMC with the Raspberry Pi 2?
Are they stable and as smooth as OpenElec?
Which one do you prefere?

I use xbian since it is still based on raspbian which I can use for hacking. You can simply ssh into it and it works well. It is still fast. Got a AP to use in the car to stream movies and a shutdown button working with it.

Edit: the 2 version is only available on their website.

I had the same problem, and the solution is OSMC

Try it, is similar to Openelec, but not readonly file system.

I too will put in a vote for OSMC. I had major crashes often with OpenElec playing videos on my RPi2 over my wired network and poor performance (no it wasn't a problem with my power supply). I tried both XBian and OSMC. Xbian wouldn't let me setup a static IP address on initial setup or later on so I skipped it and went with OSMC. So far it's brilliant. Much faster than OpenElec (with the OSMC skin), imported my library no problem. Loving it so far.
