Morning All,
I am looking to start a project using my new Pi2 and Lightberry. The requirements are OpenELEC and Hyperion for the best set-up.
I am managed to install the lastest version of OpenELEC but I have never used XBMC before, more of a Plex guy. I have a Plex server. The file structure and adding media files seem ever so messy. With in Plex I have a category for 3D movies, HD movies and SD movies. I have to add these using the Add File function and then selecting UPnP.
But these files do not seem to be cataloged under the Films folder or be populated with movie art or information.
Am I missing something? Can someone recommend the correct set-up please?
Kind regards,
Chris

Re: OpenELEC and Plex Media Server...
Why not use Rasplex instead, now on version 0.5.1, see this thread https://forums.plex.tv/index.php/topic/ ... ntry787107

Re: OpenELEC and Plex Media Server...
Is that still support and is it working with the Pi2?
And is it compatible with Hyperion and Lightberry?

Re: OpenELEC and Plex Media Server...
Rasplex 0.5.1 for RPi2 should be released later today.
Many users have Hyperion and Lightberry working, the latest release has better support for the drivers.

I did try to install RasPlex last night but just didn't boot.
But if this works it would be perfect, thank you.

Re: OpenELEC and Plex Media Server...
Morning Ned,
Hope you are well.
I'm currently at work but can see that v0.5.1 has been released. I have only had my Pi2 for a couple of days and have made to a couple of different OSs on to it using images. I have downloaded the correct image, but there is this in the details which has thrown me slightly:
• Ensure you are using the updated installer
Can I not just flash the image or is something else involved sorry?
Thank you for your hard work on this.
Kind regards,
Chris.

Re: OpenELEC and Plex Media Server...
You can just flash the image, provided you got the correct one, using the installer 'GetRasplex' it always ensures that you have the correct image, and let's you select other images (i.e. For standard Pi, useful as I have a mix of both Pi1 and Pi2 on different TV's) Get Rasplex can be downloaded from https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/releases/tag/0.5.1
Don't forget to add gpu_mem_1024=256 to the config.txt file before you remove it from your PC after flashing.

Re: OpenELEC and Plex Media Server...
Sorry Ned, I'm a little bit more confused now.
Normally I would download a img.gz file, unpack that and that use Win32Boot tool to create a microSD card bootable image.
Can I not do this?

Re: OpenELEC and Plex Media Server...
If that's what you normally do, then yes, download the appropriate .img.gz file from the link and use whatever tool you like.

Re: OpenELEC and Plex Media Server...
If you want the 'real' '10 foot HT experience' install DeadEyeFlint's Plex Black Edition skin, here https://forums.plex.tv/index.php/topic/ ... k-edition/
Make sure you download the 1.3.5 version, instructions for installing are on that link.

Ned,
You're going to hate me.
I followed the instructions but it doesn't show up in the skins.
Restarted the Pi a number of times.
