Sharing files from windows to raspberry pi server

Sat Nov 15, 2014 8:31 pm

Hello,

I have a question. I know that I can set up raspberry pi to work as a nas server or dlna and watch movies on my TV. But I don't have external USB HDD. Is there any way to watch movies on TV from my Windows PC?

Windows sharing files someway to raspi and raspi as a server will make movies on TV.

Thank you for your time and response!

Search for CIFS. That is how Linux accesses Windows shares.

Why don't you run a DLNA server on your PC directly ? There is no need for a Pi in this
setup.

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org
