RuneAudio 0.3-beta for Raspberry Pi is out

Fri Oct 31, 2014 3:02 pm

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to announce the release of RuneAudio 0.3-beta for Raspberry Pi:

http://www.runeaudio.com/runeaudio-0-3- ... pberry-pi/

As some of you may already know, RuneAudio is a free and open source software that turns your Rpi into an Hi-Fi music player, making it perform as an high fidelity digital source.

Ciao

problem with static IP-address

Sun Nov 02, 2014 1:30 pm

Hi at all!

I've tried to give Run-Audio 0.3 beta a fixed IP, but I've failed ... :(
My steps, tried this two times with different SD-cards, but with same angry result:
- Boot up first time with DHCP, find out IP-value
- Connect to the web-interface, everything is fine until here
- Change to static, "Save and Apply"
- Connect to the new static address via web-interface, everything also nice
- But on next reboot all network-settings are lost, 'eth0' is completly unconfigured!
- Can only use local keyboard and screen on this point.
- Copying original '/etc/netctl/eth0' back didn't help too?

What's going wrong?

Thanks, best regards, FM_81
A: What does the command 'cat /dev/urandom', can you tell me please?
B: Yeah, that's very simple: It feeds your cat with radioactive material!

Hi FM_81,
unfortunatly the 0.3-beta release introduced a regression bug on static IP assignment, it has already been reported by some users in the forum. We are going to fix it as soon as possible, a rework of the network section is already in progress.

In the meanwhile I suggest you to assign a static IP to your Raspberry Pi from your router via DHCP, matching its MAC address. It will also allow you to keep the same IP address for your Rpi, independently from the distribution you install on it.

Good to know, so it seems I do nothing wrong ... :)

I know about this variant, but I often swap cards and raspberrys for testing purposes; so it would be better for me to assign the IP static to the distribution (1) and not to raspi's MAC address.

Greetings, FM_81

(1) No, we are not speaking about NOOBS or BERRYBOOT here!
