Hi,
I own the following config:
HDD <USB> Powered USB hub <USB> RPi <HDMI> AVR <HDMI/DVI> 22" monitor.
AVR is a Denon 2313, I use its remote with Flirc, to select tracks in the menu on the monitor.
I use Openelec to mainly play music from 16/44,1 stereo to 24/48-88.2-96-192 multichannel.
When I play 24/96 multichannel FLAC, I get drops in audio. I asked to the developer to help but he can't replicate my issue.
I tried with Raspbmc and get the same issue.
So I am looking for other player softwares to check if it's working with the same config and file format (FLAC 24/96 multichannel).
Many thanks
Re: List of media players for RPi
More than 220 views and no answer;
I can conclude than there are only 2 media players able to play from USB hard drive, 5.0/5.1 24/96 HD files:
Openelec and Raspbmc.
Unfortunately, for some reason they don't play correctly with my config.
So I have to buy another hardware and find a new project for my useless Pi.

Re: List of media players for RPi
Thanks RaTTus for your answer,
So overclocking doesn't help.
This is why I'd like to try other player on it and I have no answer for that.
Code: Select all
Config info
arm_freq=1000
core_freq=500
sdram_freq=500
over_voltage=6
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
disable_overscan=1
program_serial_random=1
config_hdmi_boost=2
emmc_pll_core=1
hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1
hdmi_force_cec_address=65535
hdmi_edid_file=1
temp_limit=85
force_pwm_open=1
pause_burst_frames=1
avoid_fix_ts=1
Memory split
arm=384M
gpu=128M
FLAC 24/96 multichannel is now usual not weird but requires a bit more cpu. In fact I don't think this is the issue as when I have drops cpu usage is around 60% (with ssh and top);I'm not sure if the RPi can cope with weird audio
This is why I'd like to try other player on it and I have no answer for that.
Re: List of media players for RPi
Are you sure your power supply is sufficient ? Perhaps you are browning out while decoding ?

Re: List of media players for RPi
Power supply is 2A, voltage (TP1/TP2) when playing with drops is between 4.90 and 4.96V.
Any other idea?
