Can you disable HDMI switching with XBMC?

Fri Jul 25, 2014 2:28 pm

So setting up my pi as a media center with XBMC (currently trying rasbian) but I have it part of a larger entertainment system. The issues I have is that if the pi updates or reboots or whatever it is sending commands to my AV receiver to switch to that input. This is kinda annoying when I am watching TV and updating the pi in the background. I disable commands through HDMI on all my other devices but how would I do this on the pi with XBMC?

Good point..

In the RPiconfig list of command at eLinux.org (http://elinux.org/RPiconfig)

hdmi_ignore_cec_init Doesn't sent initial active source message. Avoids bringing (CEC enabled) TV out of standby and channel switch when rebooting.
hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1

hdmi_ignore_cec Pretends CEC is not supported at all by TV. No CEC functions will be supported.
hdmi_ignore_cec=1

So if you just want to keep it from switching during reboot you use the first one. If you want to disable commands completely use the second.
