1. Sound through jack to composite tv is rather low. Any reason for this? I've tried several options in the xbmc menu but none seem to have any effect. Sound is still present when selecting HDMI event though HDMI isn't used.

Two possibilities. The maximum voltage only goes so high and limits the volume.
XBMC may be not setting maximum range.

First, run hello_audio from standard raspbian/wheezy image which does output a full range signal. Is that loud enough? If not, then you'll never get louder.
If that is okay, then xbmc needs tweaking. I assume you've set xbmc volume to maximum? It may be possible to increase that maximum level, but it will result in clipping when audio is full range.
Is it 5.1 audio in the file? Downmixing does reduce volume.
There is a menu option for "boost volume on downmix" which didn't used to do anything. I've made it amplify on the latest xbmc tree, but I'm not sure if openELEC is using that yet.

nononono....you misunderstood...in the new builds (for 11920 atleast) there are some config options when you run the make command. I want to read up on them before I build so I know what Im changing. there is nothing on it in the openelec wiki or other documentation.

does online streaming works with this build ? it doesn't for me.
no idea on CEC, it has bumped to 1.9, I'm still awaiting for a v2.0 board so that it fixes my hdmi issues first.

CEC does not work in this build.
Good news is that this patch on xbmc tree https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/commit/b62 ... 7876bc260c
makes it work again. i compiled my openelec with it and it works like a charm. Hopefully cec should work in the next openelec xbmc frodo update

not much changes but a few fixes

• updated XBMC with some fixes PVR related, fixed CEC support and many new stuff many thanks to 'gimli', 'opdenkamp' and the whole XBMC dev team
• fixed XVDR PVR addon many thanks to 'pipelka', 'gimli' and many others
• the (personally) best one: improved systeminfo output in XBMC, there you can easy read some infos like BogoMips, serial (for buying the licenses), hardwarerevision and CPU temperature many thanks to me , 'dom' and others for the CPU temperature support
• various other improvenments, fixes and package updates

It is needed to update the bootloaderfiles which you can find in the build in the folder 3rdparty/bootloader it will be done automatically if you use a build 11766 or newer. For older builds you can update locally via Windows/Linux or via ssh:

• login via ssh to your Raspi:

  Code: Select all

  ssh root@<ipaddress>

• remount /flash r/w:

  Code: Select all

  mount -o remount,rw /flash

• from your linux system copy the files via ssh/scp to the Raspi:

  Code: Select all

  scp 3rdparty/bootloader/* root@<ipaddress>:/flash

because XBMC now supports officially RPi and PVR please use XBMC's Trac (http://trac.xbmc.org/) to report XBMC bugs and OpenELEC's github issue tracker (https://github.com/OpenELEC/OpenELEC.tv/issues) for OS related issues and feature/driver requests.

please test this build, and report back.

I'm trying 11925 I've done a fresh install and on first run I've set everything up and it works well. However when I restart the device it boots up to the blue screen just before xbmc full loads (blue screen is the background) and it just stays there.

I have left the pi for an hour but it never loads any ideas what this could be ?

H- I updated to 11925 and generally its working great. I still have a showstopping problem with the channel mapping problem on 5.1 downmix to stereo. Voices sometimes fade in and out. Any update on this one? Thanks

I have updated to 11925 with all working Ok for me, except that mpeg2.ts files are playing in 4x3 resolution instead of 16x9. (mpeg4.ts play in 16x9 without problem)

now RPi is supported from XBMC officially i have created a thread in XBMC's official RPi forum to continue this thread there. On XBMC's forum many more XBMC devs will read about the issues with our devel builds, so i think the place is better there and XBMC issues will be solved faster. I found that this only happens if you select update library on startup. If I don't select this all works well if I select the option it refuses to boot into xbmc
