I've been working on a personnal project during the last months, I would like to introduce it to you.
It's called Touchradio. The main goal of this project is to build an audio player that allows me to listen to my music library hosted on my LAN, and to web streams.
The user interface is based on a 10" touchscreen. I designed it to be as simple as possible.
The software is based on Logitech Media Server (as a streaming server) and Squeezelite (as a Squeezebox emulator). This architecture allows me to have multiple players in different places, and play different files, or syncing them.
I use QT5 and QTQuick for the user interface. It works very well on the RaspberryPi, and all UI effects (shadows, animations,...) are very smooth.
For now, Touchradio is able to
* Display and browse my music library
* Play files from the music library, and web stream
* Display the cover of the albums
* Display information about albums and tracks
* Set the volume
For more information, go to this page in French or this one in English.
I know that some commercial products like Sonos and Logitech Squeezebox exist but... They are costly, and I wanted to do it by myself, I wanted it to do exactly what $I want, nothing less, nothing more.
Some other projects are similar to this one, using LMS or MPD, but most of the time, the UI does not suit myu needs (web based, or mobile app).
What do you think of it? Comments and ideas are welcome! Would you be interested in this project?
