Using OpenElec

Fri Oct 04, 2013 5:55 pm

I just purchased a Rasberry Pi and had it loaded with OpenElec. I was to stream video and movies from my home computer to my hd television. I am having trouble getting the Pi to find my network drives on my computer. I am using a Wifi dongle with the Pi as well. It connects to the wifi just fine but I can not figure out for the life of me how to sync the two together to allow me to watch videos and tv shows on my computer hard drive. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Look into using SMB(samba). Windows and Linux(even though OpenElec claims not to be) Don't communicate particularly well through simple networking. SMB will fix that issue. beyond that SSH is also a good option.
