r11057, besides having a bunch of xbmc-related image and db issues, also gets slow during playback whenever I use move the mouse, and won't pause on some avis :( dunno what happened to xbmc, but r10995 (I guess the last one before myvideos61 and image related changes in xbmc) still works best.

I've found that as well, any of the r11XXX commits have been unstable and slow. Perhaps it is the changing of the DB structure that has caused the problem.

I'm using 11039 and it's working ok. I was even able to set the overscan correctly finally. I needed to put hdmi_mode=4 in config.txt and do the video calibration and reboot 3-4 times until it was ok. I tried the same with an older version and didn't work.

I also think this http://elinux.org/RPi_config.txt wiki page with the config.txt has a typo in hdmi_group. I tried to change this group and didn't work like was mentioned there. Instead of hdmi_group=1 and hdmi_group=2 should be hdmi_group=0 and hdmi_group=1.

Right, the version of the db that's in there is broken; the schema for the new art table is wrong because its ids don't auto_increment. Once you fix that it seems like some of the pictures are progressive jpgs which the comx player apparently can't deal with.
I've heard the db and thumb issues were fixed in and there's a new version of the db (v64) but only in xbmc, not in xbmc-rbp, which as yet to be merged with master.

Aha! That would explain some very interesting results I've been seeing with resolution elsewhere. thanks!

Download the zip file, copy to the storage partition of the sdcard (perhaps using the smb share). Choose install from zip file?

From the RPi itself you can use wget to get the zip file.
If using raspbmc from SSH connection that your are probably in /home/pi directory - so that it where you would navigate to from the XBMC screen when you choose to add the plug-in.

Hey-
Have you guys tried to play DVD files (VOBs) via xbmc? None of mine work, apparently, and I was wondering if I was the only one/if this was limited to my build (r10995).
Here's a sample:

Code: Select all

23:23:17 T:1074188976 WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(player)::Put MSGQ_NOT_INITIALIZED
It also fails with the same 'skipping unplayable item' error for iso files.

One other time it got stuck attempting to play an ISO at all, and I had to kill the xbmc process:

Code: Select all

23:32:27 T:1272968288   ERROR: Error on dvdnav_open
23:32:27 T:1272968288   ERROR: COMXPlayer::OpenInputStream - failed to open [smb://MAIN/Movies/Star Wars/Jambe Davdar/Building Empire/Building Empire - Miami Complete SL PAL/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.IFO] as DVD ISO, trying Bluray
23:32:28 T:1272968288   ERROR: CDVDInputStreamBluray::Open - BluRay not detected
EDIT: No joy on AVCHD files (bdmv) either, same error. xbmc-rbp is still not mature, I suppose.

I presume that your DVD issue is because MPEG2 is not hardware accelerated and software-only is too slow on RPi so players have it disabled and hence skip it.

You could try right clicking on the file you want to play and select Play using... DVDPlayer. Probably still will be slow and unwatchable unless you have a small resolution mpeg2.

I just got my Raspberry and i´m a bit stuck on how to install openelec to it.

I downloaded "OpenELEC-RPi.arm-devel-20120520171357-r11043", but the INSTALL file (0 Byte) seems to be empty.

Is there any tutorial available as of now?

Thanks for giving me a helping hand!

You've just downloaded the SD image, see this Wiki link for further instructions: http://elinux.org/RPi_Easy_SD_Card_Setup

This all is also explained a bit in the downloads tab of this website: http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads

There are download links to two OpenELEC tutorials in the post I linked to two posts above yours. The first one is for cross-compiling, the second one is for preparing your SD card. It can be hard to see links in threads on the current forum styles, but I know they are planning to make links more prominent in posts when they get to it. It's on the list. :D

Hi guys, I've received my RPi yesterday and I copiled and setup openelec to my 4gb sd card.
Now I'am looking how to configure my Netgear WG111 V2 wifi adapter to access to the network, anyone knows how to do this?

Second thing, I'd like to install an add-on to openelec and see if it work it's PlexBMC that allows
XBMC to access to the Plex Media Server over the home network
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-on:PleXBMC
Do you know how do do this?

Thank you so much :)

These links might help. Not precisely what you want, but might move you in the right direction.

According to elinux wiki Netgear WG111 v2 Is supported, now i have to find how to open a shell under openelec, but I red that the only way to have it is over the network.

Edit: under xubuntu works out of the box

Make sure wlan0 is configured as network 1 and eth0 is configured as network 2 (even if you have no intention using a wired connection) in OpenElec OS settings, that got my ASUS N10 dongle up and running.
