Has anyone interfaced an actual DVB tuner direct to the P1 GPIO port ? instead of USB
I have a DVB tuner here with a direct transport stream interface (8 data bits plus clock, start and valid signal) and i want to make a small board to plug into P1. I2C is also needed for control, as is a GPIO output for reset and i would like to use one pin for an IR input for a remote control.
At a push I can strobe in the data, so that would be 8 bits plus strobe.
Seems everyone has used a DVB-T type USB stick for this so I am unsure if that has been done due to lack of availability of actual real tuner/demodulator systems, due to just pure convenience or due to the fact that the GPIO port cannot accept a proper TS signal.
Any help appreciated
