OpenElec XBMC Wifi Help

Sun Jan 27, 2013 12:21 am

I've successfully got openelec and xbmc installed on a flash running great, Airplay video streaming works perfect when connected via Ethernet. Now I need to move my media Pi to another room so I need to setup my usb wifi adapter.

I have a TRENDnet 300 Mbps Dual Band Wireless N USB 2.0 Adapter TEW-664UB

How do I setup this adapter via Openelc Xbmc?

But I can not Quit the media center, I can not find a exit and the wifi dongel is not working. How can I go back to the bsic unix screen concole

Thanks for helping

I will take a look tonight, just need to setup an SD Card with OpenElec,

You should be able to SSH into the Raspberry Pi with PuTTY (On Windows)

What version of OpenELEC are you running? The latest version has easy configuration of Wifi from the "Programs" tab. You don't even need a keyboard (handy if you don't have a hub).

It is mentioned that you can perhaps ssh in and change things. With openELEC that's less likely because it really is a minimal build. You can still SSH in to it but as a design decision, almost anything that can let you modify the system has been removed. If you want to tinker, then Xbian, or Raspbmc would be a better bet.
