In-car music player

Fri Jan 18, 2013 8:08 pm

Hi, I was just messing around with some ideas, and came to the conslusion that my cassette player is my car is getting ancient, so I decided to use the pi as a media player, with music stored on usb, all works out fine here..

I'd like to be able to control playback via bluetooth on my android phone (I have a bluetooth stick which seems to be working) but I don't know what distro / apps to use for this.. I've tried openelec but it doesn't seem to have bluetooth control, and constantly using 98% CPU.. If anyone could give any pointers, it'd be great.

I'd like to be able to see available songs and play them, instead of just play/next etc, although that would be fine. :)

I don't have a bluetooth solution, but maybe dlna is a solution. It uses wifi.
You might setup your Pi wifi as acces point.
Android has some dlna controller applications like bubble upnp.
