Hi,
I have some time over Xmas, I hope!

I'm already working on a new version but having some trouble with SqueezeLite. I'll inform you! I hope I get a version at the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014.

Meantime I'm checking out a few things like the Community Squeeze Operating System. I've got a wandboard and I'm testing with it! I think it's far too expensive to be an alternative to the Pi. And the SW, I'm not sure, but it seems very inflexible to me!

Merry Xmas

Hi, I would also appreciate a version of SqueezePlug that's compatible with my RasPi, very much!

Keep up the great work!

Mono-only?

I'm using the 3.5mm stereo output of my RPi for audio. I was listening to sold older music today through Pandora, and realized I was missing some of the audio. I switched to local music, and put on my defacto stereo trrack - Another Brick in the Wall (Part 3) from Pink Floyd's "The Wall". Sure enough, all of the gunshots at the beginning track were coming out of both speakers equally, rather than panning left to right. I searched a little bit, and found that amixer returns

Code: Select all

  Playback channels: Mono
  Limits: Playback -10239 - 400
  Mono: Playback 400 [100%] [4.00dB] [on]
Is this due to coding, or hardware? If it's due to hardware, would a USB DAC fix the problem. If it's coding, are there any configuration settings I can change? Thanks!

Hi folks,
yes, I'm making good progress with version 7 of SqueezePlug. It will take some time to finish, because I'll renew SqueezePlug from scratch. I'll remove a lot of unnecessary things, add some new, and refurbish all old functions. SqueezePlug shall become easier and some old bugs will be removed.

The new version will be based on the latest Rassbian Image which gives us some advantages. It will be possible (and it will be the default) to install the latest LMS version, which runs without patches on the HF version of Wheezey.

I like to produce a hopeful bug free version (as far as possible) so it takes a while. Right now I can't tell You a release date, but I hope to give some news soon!

Please be patient,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,
It's nice to know you are working on Squeezeplug 7.

Will you integrate Squeezelite with wma support to v7? Picoreplayer did it successfully. I don't know if it's possible with Local Player plugin; maybe Squeezelite should be installed again from Squeezeplug menu separately if that feature is needed.

Hi,
I like to inform you that SqueezePlug 7 is almost ready. Right now I'm doing some final tests. I'm pretty sure I'll be ready the next days. It should be ready this weekend!

Greetings,
Thomas

In SqueezePlug 7 version 1.4 of SqueezeLite will be integrated. Here the part of the release notes of SqueezeLite 1.4:
Version 1.4 also includes support for wma and alac decode via the ffmpeg library if it is built with the -DFFMPEG build option. (This is not included in binaries by default).

Ralphy from Slimdevices Forums is building Squeezelite with that feautures for Rpi and shares for picoreplayer updates. I'm sure he would share for Squeezeplug, too.
Thanks again for v7; I will try it today for a friend.

I thought this feature is now integrated in the official SqueezeLite 1.4 version. If this is not the case I surely will integrate Ralphys version! Ralphy is a good friend of mine so it's no problem at all. Can someone please tell us the status quo?

Thomas
